Chinese Spicy Beef Stew
This is a traditional Chinese beef stew. Usually, we have it with white rice or white noodles. If you like, you can season it with Chinese chili oil and sprinkle finely chopped cilantro on top of it. The taste is so yummy!

Ingredients

2 rib eye steaks (about 2 lbs)

1/2 of Daikon, chopped

1 medium carrot, chopped

10 cherry tomatoes, cut into half

2 green onion, cut into pieces

1 slice ginger

2 hot pepper
-
1 aniseed
-
1 cinnamon stick
-
1 bay leaf

~~ Seasoning ~~

1 Tbsp Chinese bean sauce

3 Tbsp soy sauce

1 Tbsp maple syrup

1 Tbsp rice wine

1 tsp salt
Cooking Instructions

Brown both sides of the steaks, about 3 minutes each side. Then rest on a plate for 3 minutes before cutting into cubes and trim off extra fat. Meanwhile, prepare other ingredients.

Add a little bit veg. oil in the same pot then saute green onions, ginger, hot peppers, aniseed, and cinnamon stick.

Add cubed steaks and stir fry with all the seasoning. Then add water just over the steaks.

Add chopped Daikon, carrots, and bay leaf bring to boil. Turn to low heat. Cover with a lid (partially covered) and continue cooking for 25 minutes. After 25 minutes, move the pot away from the heat. Then cover the lid completely for 20 minutes. Enjoy~~
