Palak chapati

Palak chapati is a green spicy chapati which is made by mixing palak and spices in the chapati dough. It would be dark green in color and is healthy as well as tasty.

  1. 2 Cups Wheat Flour
  2. Palak (2 bunches)
  3. 1 Tablespoon Cumin seeds
  4. 1 Teaspoon Cumin Powder
  5. 1 Onion
  6. Brine Water
  7. Chilli Powder

    Keep palak immersed in water for a few minutes to clean it thoroughly. Separate the leaves from the stem and chop the leaves. Cook the leaves in a little water.

    Grind the leaves into a fine paste. Saute finely chopped onion in a little oil till they turn golden brown in color.

    Prepare the dough by mixing wheat flour, palak paste, sauted onions, cumin seeds, cumin powder, chilli powder and brine water.

    Prepare the dough balls and flatten each ball into a big circle. Heat a tawa, put the flattened dough onto it and cook on both sides.

    Serve hot with salad or sauce or a gravy curry.
