Crispy Vege Samosa

Samosa is one of my most favourite snacks. Though the ready to use pastry sheet is available, I tried this out of my interest. I found this much tastier and absorbed less oil compared to the readymade pastry sheets.

Ingredients

  1. 2 Onion
  2. 2 Carrot
  3. 1 Beet root
  4. 2 Potatoes
  5. 3 green Chilli
  6. 1 Tablespoon Ginger Garlic Paste
  7. 1 Bunch Corriander Leaves
  8. 1 Teaspoon Red chilli powder
  9. 1 Tablespoon Garam Masala
  10. 50 Grams Peas Grean
  11. 2 Cups All purpose Flour
  12. 3/4 Cup Water Cold
  13. 1 Tablespoon Vegetable Oil
  14. 2 Tablespoons Corn Flour

Method

    Add Photo

    Cut all the vegetables into small dice pieces, add garam masala and salt. Boil till the vegetables are cooked. Drain out the water.

    Heat oil, add onions saute till the onions turn transparent add salt, green chillies and ginger garlic paste and saute for 3 mts.You can add red chilli powder if required.

    Put the bolied vegetables,sauté until everything is well combined. Cook with lid on low flame for 10 mts.Add coriander leaves and keep it aside for samosa filling.

    For the pastry, mix all the ingredients knead for 10 mins to form a stiff dough.Leave to rest for 15 minutes or so.Cut into six equal pieces Shape them into discs and roll each one into 15 cm diameter circle.

    Layer the circles, sprinkling a little oil and flour between the layers. Press the edges together. Roll out the dough into a 25 cm diameter circle.

    Put the same in the oven heat it at 640 degrees for 2 mins each sides.Wrap with a cloth to prevent from drying.Cut in half and again in half to get 4 equal pieces.

    Combine ¼ cup flour with ¼ cup water. Mix well into a smooth paste

    Fold the pastry to form a cone,brush with the above batter in the edges,stuff with fillings and close to form a triangle shape.Deep fry in the oil,on a medium flame till golden brown.

    You can brush the pastries with vinegar & store in freezer for next use.
