Very easy Flaky ,cheesy and delicious cheddar cheese puff is a healthy snack for kids. You can serve this as an appetizer too...
This is one of my favorite Italian American chef Giada's recipe. I saw this recipe in food network and felt like trying it. As always I prepared this in my own style.

Ingredients

  1. 1 1/4 Cups All Purpose Flour
  2. 1 1/4 Cups cheddar cheese , mild
  3. 1/2 Teaspoon baking powder
  4. 1/2 Cup butter
  5. 1 Tablespoon water cold , cold
  6. 1/2 Teaspoon Oregano
  7. 1/2 Teaspoon salt

    Crumble the oregano and salt in a small bowl using your hands and set aside.

    Combine Cheese, flour and baking powder in food processor and mix. Add chilled butter cut into pieces. Now change the mode onto chop and process until the mixture forms a coarse meal. Now add 1 tablespoon ice cold water and process until the mixture forms a ball.

    Take the dough out from the processor and roll out 10 inch diameter circle and 1/4 inch thick, on a lightly floured surface. Form the dough into a flat disc and cover with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.

    Sprinkle the dough with the seasoned salt. Gently roll the salt into the dough using a rolling pin.Cut the dough into different shapes using the cookie cutters, and transfer to the prepared baking sheets.

    Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Bake until puffed and golden. Approximately 20 to 25 minutes.
