An easy side dish for Chapati / Dosa.

Ingredients

3-serving
  1. 1 Cup Toor Dal Pigeon Pea / (boiled)
  2. 4 Onions Small (chopped)
  3. 1 Tomato (small in size, chopped)
  4. 2 Chillies Dried Red
  5. 2 Cloves Garlic (chopped)
  6. 1/4 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  7. 1/4 Teaspoon Mustard Seeds
  8. 1/4 Teaspoon cumin
  9. 1 Tablespoon Sunflower Oil
  10. 1 Tablespoon Ghee
  11. To Taste Salt
  12. 1 Curry leaves Stalk
  13. 1/4 Cup Water

Method

    Add Photo

    Heat the oil in a medium size pan and add mustard seeds. After splattering, add cumin, curry leaves, chopped small onion and saute till onion becomes transparent.

    Add chopped tomato, chopped garlic, sliced dried red chilies and saute for a minute.

    Then add water, turmeric powder, salt and boiled toor dal / toorvaram paruppu / pigeon peas. Cover the pan and let small bubbles rise for the mixture.

    When it gets thicker, add ghee. Serve it with chapati / Dosa or Plain Rice.
