To mix to a paste – 1/2 tsp chilli powder, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder,salt, 1/4 tsp powdered black pepper, 1 tbsp vinegar, 1 tbsp water.Marinate the prawns and keep for 15 mints.
Heat 3 tbsp of oil in a pan add mustard seeds and wait to crackle.
Add ginger,garlic, sliced green chillies and saute well.Now add the chopped shallots,onions and saute till it becomes translucent. Add the chopped tomato and close the pan with a lid and cook.
Once the tomatoes are cooked properly Add the chilli powder, salt,crushed red chilli,turmeric powder,pepper powder and coriander powder and saute till the raw smell is gone.
The prawns can be added to the pan now with some curry leaves. Give it quick mix and keep the pan closed to cook the prawns. Simmer until gravy begins to thicken.
Once cooked well, remove from gas & garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves
