Didir in Tamil means "Instant". This is an instant Vada recipe which my mom tried out and it turned out to be very yummy.
Grind together toor dal, urad dal and chana dal to a coarse mixture.
Soak the boiled rice rava for 5 minutes in hot water.
Mix the dal mixture, soaked rava, salt, grated coconut, curry leaves, finely chopped ginger, chopped red chillies and asafoetida together. Prepare lemon sized balls out of this mixture.
Heat oil in a pan. Flatten the balls on your palm one by one and slide it into the oil. Deep fry till the vadas turn golden brown in color. Remove from oil and serve hot.
