Paneer (cottage cheese) curry

A simple and easy paneer recipe that goes well with Indian breads and rice...



  1. 200 gms Paneer
  2. 2 tablespoons Ghee
  3. 2 Onions medium chopped
  4. 1 Tomatoe chopped large
  5. 1 inch Ginger chopped
  6. 4 - 5 cloves Garlic chopped
  7. 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  8. 2 teaspoons Chilly powder
  9. 2 teaspoons Garam masala
  10. 1 cup milk boiled
  11. 1 bunch Cilantro chopped
  12. 1/4 cup water
  13. to taste Salt

  1. Add Photo

    In a vessel, saute chopped onion, ginger and garlic in ghee till transparent.

  2. Add Photo

    Add the powders turmeric, chilly and garam masala and mix well.

  3. Add Photo

    Once you get the aroma, add the chopped tomatoe. Let it cook till the tomatoe blends in.

    In the meanwhile boil milk in another vessel.

  5. Add Photo

    While that happens, add 1/4 cup water to the tomato blend and let it come to a boil.

    Add  the paneer pieces and let it cook for 5-7 minutes.

    Switch the stove off and add the boiled milk. Stir  a few times so that the milk does not curdle.

  8. Add Photo

    Check for salt. And adjust the spices according to your preference.

    Garnish with chopped cilantro.
