Coconut chutney (chammanthi)

The basic chutney most locals love... can be used with rice, dosa, idli and anything else you fancy... and its yummy!

Ingredients

3-serving
  1. 1 cup coconut Grated
  2. 1.5 teaspoons chilly Red powder & nbsp ;
  3. 2 - 3 green chillies Or use & nbsp ;
  4. 1 Tamarind small & nbsp ; ball
  5. to taste Salt
  6. Ginger speck a
  7. sprig Curry leaves a
  8. 1 - 2 Shallots medium
  9. 2 - 3 teaspoons Water

Method

    Put all ingredients together in a grinder and grind until smooth.

    You can also make the chutney green in color with a slightly different taste. Instead of red chilly powder, add 3 green chillies. Also, if you want it in a pour-able state, just add adequate water, mix well and do the seasoning with mustard, sliced shallots, dry red chillies and curry leaves.
