Honey Almond Cake

I got to taste this cake from my cousin and it was just so nice that i had to try it and share with everyone..the cake can be served warm with vanilla ice cream.

  1. 200 Grams Flour
  2. 175 Grams Butter
  3. 85 Grams Honey
  4. 85 Grams Caster Sugar
  5. 85 Grams Almonds , ground
  6. 1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
  7. 1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
  8. 100 Grams Yogurt
  9. 1 Egg yolk
  10. 2 Egg white
  11. 1 Egg , whole
  12. 85 Grams Almond cashewnut / , flaked
  13. 4 Tablespoons Honey

  1. Add Photo

    Preheat the oven to 180C. Grease and line the cake tin.

  2. Add Photo

    Put Honey, Butter, Caster Sugar, Ground almonds, Flour, Baking powder, Baking soda and Yogurt into a mixing bowl.

    Put the egg whites in another bowl. Whisk the whites till they are stiff.

    Put the yolk and one whole egg along with ingredients in Step 2 and beat until smooth.

    Stir in a third of the egg whites, then gently fold it to the mixture with a spatula.

    Put the mixture in the cake tin. Level the batter with a spatula.

    Scatter over the Ground Almonds or Cashwenuts.

  8. Add Photo

    Bake the cake for 55 min or as per the cake tin you use. Perform the skewer test (skewer inserted comes out clean).

  9. Add Photo

    Remove the cake from oven, drizzle 2 Tablespoon Honey and scatter a pinch of salt. Put back in oven for 5 min. Remove from oven, drizzle with 2 tablespoon more of Honey.
