Katte Pongal

It is a south Indian daily dish can have as breakfast or light supper

  1. 2 Cups rice
  2. 1 Cup moong dal
  3. 1/4 Cup ghee
  4. 1/4 Cup cashewnuts pieces of
  5. 10 to 12 Curry leaves
  6. 2 Tablespoons pepper
  7. 2 Tablespoons jeelakarra (Cumin seeds)
  8. To Taste Salt

  1. Add Photo

    Cook rice and dal (mixed) adding salt which should turn very soft.

  2. Add Photo

    Then heat the ghee in a vessel and after it is very hot add pepper, jeelakarra and cashew nuts and curry leaves to it.

  3. Add Photo

    Then add it to the rice and mix well so that the entire thing is mixed properly.

  4. Add Photo

    Serve it hot it really tastes good.To add taste to it u can serve it with some Tamato chatni or Raitha as per ur desire.
