  2. 1 Teaspoon baking powder
  3. 1/2 Teaspoon salt
  4. 2 Tablespoons cherry powder
  5. 1 Cup butter , unsalted
  6. 1 Cup sugar granulated
  7. 2 Tablespoons Sugar granulated
  8. 1 egg large
  9. 1 1/2 Teaspoons vanilla
  10. 1/2 Teaspoon almond extract
  11. 4 Tablespoons meringue powder
  12. 1/2 Cup water , cold
  13. 1 Pound sugar powdered
  14. 1/2 Teaspoon vanilla clear

    Whisk the 1st 4 ingredients; set aside. Cream the butter and sugar. Add the extracts; mix. Add egg, mix. Add flour mixture a bit at a time until just combined;Try not to overmix the dough. There will be crumbs; take out the dough and knead softly with your hands

    Roll out on a floured surface to 1/4 inch thick. Cut with cookie cutter. Place on parchment lined baking tray. Bake @ 350 ° for ~ 15 mins. Move the cookies to wire rack to cool completely before icing. Decorate as desired with royal icing.

    For Royal Icing: Combine the meringue powder and H2O until foamy. Add the powdered sugar a cup at a time. Once all the sugar is combined, add vanilla, turn up the mixer to high and beat for about 5 mins. Add cold water one tsp. at a time until the mixture is thinned to consistency of heavy cream.

    Tint the royal icing as desired with pink gel food coloring. Decorate as desired.
