Gajar Ka Halwa - Carrot Dessert

Traditionally eaten during all of the festivals in India, mainly on the occasion of Diwali, Holi, Eid al-Fitr and Raksha Bandhan.Now this has been a popular worldwide dessert with many variations such as Red Velvet Halwa, Carrot and Beetroot Halwa, and Cheesy Carrot Halwa.

Heat some ghee in a pan. Add grated carrots. Stir it well. After cooking for 2 minutes, add milk and mix it well.

Let the mixture cook for 10-15 minutes till the milk is reduced to half.

Add half to 3/4th cup of sugar, as per taste.

Cook till all the milk and water is dried out.

Add 1/2 tsp. roasted cardamom powder and some roasted almond flakes. Keep it for cooling for 30-40 minute so that it sets nicely.
