Slow Cooked German Ribs & Mashed Red Potatoes

  1. 6 Tablespoons Flour
  2. 1 teaspoon Salt
  3. 1/8 teaspoon Black Pepper Ground
  4. 3 lbs Beef Ribs
  5. 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  6. 1 Onion
  7. 1 Cup Red Wine Dry
  8. 1 Cup Chile Sauce
  9. 2 Packed Brown Sugar Tablespoons
  10. 6 Tablespoons Vinegar
  11. 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
  12. 1 teaspoon Mustard Dry
  13. 1 teaspoon Chili Powder
  14. 1/2 teas
  15. 2 1/2 lbs Potatoes Red
  16. 2 1/2 Tablespoons Butter
  17. 5 Cloves Garlic
  18. 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  19. 1/2 teaspoon Steak Seasoning
  20. 1 1/2 Cups Milk

    In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons flour, salt, and black pepper.

    Coat ribs with the flour mixture.

    Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

    Slice onion and place in slow cooker with wine, chile sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, worcestershire sauce, mustard, and chili powder. Mix thoroughly.

    Brown ribs about 1 minute on each side and place in slow cooker.

    Cook on low for 6 - 8 hours.

    Meanwhile bring a large pot of water to a boil over high heat.

    While the water is coming up to a boil, wash and quarter the potatoes.

    Add the potatoes to the boiling water and cook until tender (about 10 minutes)

    Meanwhile, mince the garlic and remove the ribs from the slow cooker and set the heat to high.

    Mix the remaining 4 tablespoons of flour with 1/2 cup of water into the sauce and stir into the sauce. Cook for 10 minutes.

    When the potatoes are done, drain the potatoes and put through a potato ricer.

    Add the butter and stir until melted. Add the garlic, salt, steak seasoning, and milk. Stir until creamy.
