Bread Upma

Bored of the regular bread sandwiches and bread toasts in breakfast? Here's a breakfast variation called bread upma. Try this easy to make yet delicious recipe and we bet, breakfast will no longer be boring.

  1. 1 tsp Butter
  2. 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
  3. Curry leaves
  4. Green Chillies ( slit and deseded)
  5. 1/4 tsp Asafoetida
  6. Coriander leaves
  7. 1 Onion ( finely chopped)
  8. 1 tbsp Garlic ( finely chopped )
  9. 1 & 1/2 Tomatoes ( deseeded and chopped)
  10. 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  11. Salt
  12. 1/2 cup Water
  13. 1/2 Lemon juice
  14. 4 Pav Bread /
  15. Sev coriander and ( garnish )

  1. Add Photo

    Heat butter in a pan and let it melt completely,

  2. Add Photo

    Add mustard seeds, curry leaves, green chillies, asafoetida, coriander leaves, onions and stir fry them.

  3. Add Photo

    Add garlic and mix everything till the onions turns translucent, not brown.

    Add tomato and mix well.

  5. Add Photo

    Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt and cook it till the tomatoes turn soft.

  6. Add Photo

    Add water, lemon juice and boil it till the water dries out.

  7. Add Photo

    Add the bread pieces in the tomato mixture and toss them well to coat all the bread pieces well.

  8. Add Photo

    Sprinkle some coriander leaves and mix well everything.

  9. Add Photo

    Serve hot after adding sev and coriander leaves.
