Ingredients

  1. 1 cup Raw rice -
  2. 2 cups Rice Par Boiled -
  3. 1 cup Urad Dal Whole -
  4. 1/2 cup rice cooked -
  5. to taste Salt
  6. Water as needed to grind

Method

  1. Add Photo

    Wash and soak rice for 5 to 6 hours 

  2. Add Photo

    Drain both. Take urad dal and grind in a blender, make it as a smooth batter. Grind Rice.The rice will not be super fine but will have small grits

  3. Add Photo

    Grind cooked rice then add to the batter 

  4. Add Photo

    Mix all these ingredients well. Add salt to taste 

  5. Add Photo

    Cover this and let it ferment overnight or 8 to 10 hours.

  6. Add Photo

    Next day morning you will get a risen batter. Mix this batter well

  7. Add Photo

    Grease idli plates with little oil and spoon the batter into each moulds

  8. Add Photo

    Cook this Idly batter for 10 minutes 

  9. Add Photo

    Serve with sambar, chutney or Idly powder
