Chicken Harrisa

This dish originated in Armenia.It is a confort food. This meal was given to poor people for Charity ... so is the legend. It is easy to make and tastes very good. Serve it with any of your favorites.. Roti, Rice, Quinoa, Dalia, Paratha or Salad.

Habadhaba Baba


  1. 4 half Chicken . Thighs cut in
  2. 1 1/2 Tablespoons Chicken Masala .
  3. 1 Tablespoon Ginger Onion Turmeric , and Paste
  4. 1 Cup Yogurt
  5. 1 Cup Tomato Sauce (Pasta sauce will be good)
  6. 1 Onion Chopped
  7. 2 Green Chillies chopped
  8. 1 Tablespoon Hot sauce any brand ( I used chef luciano's hot sauce)
  9. a few Curry leaves
  10. 2 Olive Oil Table spoon
  11. 1 teaspoon cumin seeds .
  12. 2 Cans Chickpeas (16 oz)

  1. Add Photo

    Marinate chicken in 1 tablespoon of Chicken Masala. (10 minutes)

  2. Change

    Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a skillet and brown chicken pieces.

  3. Add Photo

    In a seperate pot heat 1tablespoon oilive oil. Add cumin seeds, cook 1 minute. Add Ginger, Garlic Paste, Cook 3 mts. Add 1/2 teaspoon Masala, Yogurt, Green Chillies, Hot sauce, curry leaves. Add Tomato sauce. Mix every thing and add chick peas with liquid. Bring to a boil and simmer for 20 mts. When ready to serve sprikle chopped cilantro leaves.
