Mushroom Dry - A Sauteed Side dish for Rotis/Chapatis

"Are you tired of grinding Masala?" Mostly all of us would say, 'yes.' Well, we all know the process of grinding a list of ingredients is a huge task on a lazy hungry day!! So, let's try something easy as a side dish for Rotis or Chapatis.



  1. 200 grams Common Mushroom (chopped)
  2. 1 large Onion (finely chopped)
  3. 1 medium size Tomato (make puree)
  4. 1 teaspoon Ginger Garlic Paste
  5. 1 Green Chilli Slited Green
  6. 1 tablespoon Coconut Grated
  7. 2 each Cinnamon and Clove
  8. 1/2 teaspoon Cumin
  9. 1 teaspoon Garam Masala
  10. 1/2 - 3/4 teaspoon Red Chilli Powder
  11. 1 pinch Turmeric (optional)
  12. 10 - 15 Cashew Nuts
  13. To Taste Salt
  14. To Cook Water
  15. 3 - 4 tablespoons Refined Oil
  16. 1 tablespoon Ghee
  17. 1 sprig Curry Leaves
  18. To Taste Coriander Leaves

  1. Add Photo

    Heat the oil in a pan and add cinnamon, clove, cumin, onion, green chilli, curry leaves and few seconds later add ginger garlic paste.

    Saute it, until it gets golden brown in colour. Now add tomato puree and saute well.

    Add garam masala, red chilli powder, salt and a large sprinkle of water.

    Now cover the pan with a lid and cook till the mixture gets dry.

    Before switching off the flame, add grated coconut and a large sprinkle of coriander leaves; give a good stir.

    In another pan roast the cashew nuts in ghee and add before serving the dish.

    Now give a large bite with chapatis or rotis....yum yum!!
