Ingredients

  1. 3 Apples big ( peeled and grated)
  2. half Lemon juice lemon juice of
  3. 300 gms Khoya (mawa)
  4. 1 cup Milk
  5. ¾ cup Sugar (may vary according to sweetness prefered)
  6. ½ tsp Cardamom powder
  7. Pinch Saffron of
  8. 2 - 3 drops Rose essence
  9. 4 tbsps Ghee
  10. Almonds
  11. Pistachios
  12. Pinch Saffron of

Steps

  1. Mix the lemon juice to the grated apple.

  2. In a heavy bottom pan or kadhai, heat ghee.

  3. Add cardamom powder and grated apple, sauté on high heat for few mins. Stir well to avoid burning.

  4. Add khoya and milk, let it cook well till mixture starts leaving ghee.  Stir occasionally.

  5. Add sugar, saffron and rose essence, mix well.

  6. Let it cook till the sugar dissolves completely and the mixture becomes thick and dry.

  7. Pour this mixture  in a greased pan or cake tin.

  8. Garnish with slivered almonds, pistas and saffron strands.

  9. Refrigerate till set.

  10. Cut into squares or diamond shapes.  Serve it.
