Spicy Baby Potatoes

Spicy baby potatoes has always been my husband’s favourite
This is very easy to prepare, goes well for snack or even as a meal

Ingredients

  1. 18 - 20 Baby potatoes (boiled and peeled)
  2. 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  3. 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  4. Curry leaves few
  5. 4 - 5 chilies Dried red (whole)
  6. 1 tsp Urad dal
  7. 1 tsp chili powder Red  (you can adjust according to your taste)
  8. ½ tsp Turmeric
  9. ½ tsp Coriander powder
  10. Salt as per taste
  11. 3 tbsps Tamarind pulp
  12. 2 tbsps Oil
  13. 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  14. 2 tsps Coriander seeds
  15. 2 - 3 chilies (I used kashmiri red chili) Whole red
  16. 4 - 5 Black peppercorns
  17. Dry roast the above spices and grind to a powder
  18. Coriander leaves

Method

    In a pan or kadhai, heat oil, add mustard seeds and cumin seeds, allow it to crack

    Add urad dal, fry for few seconds till it turns golden

    Add curry leaves and whole red chilies, fry

    Add boiled potatoes, sauté well for few seconds

    Then add red chili powder, turmeric, coriander powder, salt, sauté for another minute

    Add tamarind pulp, sauté for few seconds

    Finally add ground masala and toss well

    Dish out, garnish with coriander leaves and serve
