Ghee Rice

Ghee Rice

Simple and aromatic.



  1. 2 cups Basmati rice Kaima/
  2. 4 cups water Boiling
  3. 2 numbers Cinnamon pieces
  4. 6 numbers Cardamom
  5. 6 numbers Clove
  6. 1 number Bay leaf
  7. 2 tablespoons Ghee
  8. 1/2 teaspoon Lime juice
  9. to taste Salt
  10. For Garnishing
  11. 3/4 cup Onion, sliced
  12. 1/4 cup Cashew nuts
  13. 2 tablespoons Ghee
  14. Oil - for deep frying


  1. Add Photo

    Wash and soak the rice for 15 minutes. Drain the water and keep aside.

  2. Add Photo

    Heat ghee in a pan and add cinnamon, cardamom, clove, bay leaf and rice. Stir for 5 minutes.

  3. Add Photo

    Add boiling water, salt and lime juice. Cover and cook on low flame till the water is dried completely and the rice is cooked. Seperate the cooked rice with a fork.

  4. Add Photo

    Garnish with fried onion and roasted cashew nuts. Serve with any veg or non veg curry of your choice.
