Lauki Chana daal

  1. 2 cup lauki(chopped)
  2. 1 cup chana daal (20 min. Soaked)
  3. 1 onion chopped
  4. 1 tomatoes chopped
  5. 1 tsp red chilli powder
  6. 1 tsp coriander powder
  7. 1 tsp turmeric powder
  8. as needed Salt
  9. Pinch hing
  10. 1/4 kasuri methi
  11. 1 green chilli chopped
  12. 1 tsp ginger chopped
  13. 1 tsp garam masala
  14. 1 tsp ghee
  15. 1 tsp butter
  16. 3/4 cup or as needed water
  17. 1 tsp cumin


  1. Add Photo

    In a pressure cooker add ghee butter hing cumin.let the cumin crackle first.

  2. Add Photo

    Add green chilli ginger onion and saute it for 5 to 6 min.

  3. Add Photo

    When onion becomes soft add tomatoes red chilli powder coriander powder turmeric powder salt and cook this for 5 to 8 min so that all the spice mix together.

  4. Add Photo

    When oil seperates add soaked and wash Chana daal.saute this for 3 min.

  5. Add Photo

    Add chopped lauki or ghiya into cooker along with Water and pressure cook it for 6 to 8 whistles untill the lauki becomes soft..

  6. Add Photo

    Add kasoori methi and garam masala.

  7. Add Photo

    Serve hot lauki chana ki daal with fulka or roti.
