Ingredients

20 minutes
  1. 2 cups mix daal (chana, matar and urad)
  2. 1 inch piece ginger
  3. 1 tbsp cumin seed
  4. 1 black cardamom
  5. 3 cloves
  6. as per taste Salt
  7. 1 pinch asafoetida
  8. 2 tsp amchoor powder
  9. 2 tsp + 1 cup Oil for greasing the plate and for frying
  10. 4-5 cloves garlic

Cooking Instructions

    Soak daals for 5- 6 hours

    Grind with other ingredients except oil and arbi leaves

  3. 3

    In the kitchen platform spread 2-3 washed arvi leaves facing green side down

  4. 4

    Spread daal paste over the leaves

  5. 5

    Cover the leaves with arvi leaves then again spread daal mixture nicely on it

  6. 6

    Keep leaves one above another till all the leaves and daal finishes

  7. 7

    Make a tight roll

  8. 8

    Heat water in a steamer keep a greased plate on it

  9. 9

    Keep the roll on the plate and steam it covered for 15-20 minutes

  10. 10

    When cool, cut into pieces and deep fry in hot oil on medium flame till crisp

  11. 11

    Can shallow fry too in a non stick pan with little oil.Serve with any chutney
