Mackerel Tawa Fry

Mackerel Fish is marinated in fresh grounded masala paste and tawa fried. Simple recipe, doesn't takes much time and taste awesome.

Ingredients

  1. 4 pieces big fish Mackerel Fish
  2. 1 inch Ginger
  3. 5 Garlic cloves
  4. 1 tsp Peppercorns
  5. 1 tsp Coriander seeds
  6. 1 tsp turmeric powder
  7. 2 tsp Red chilli powder
  8. 1 tsp Garam masala powder
  9. 1 sprig curry leaves
  10. 1 tbsp Lemon juice
  11. 3-4 tbsps coconut oil
  12. to taste Salt

Steps

  1. Take the fish and make slashes on both sides. Keep aside in a mixing bowl.

  2. Take all the ingredients in a blender except oil, lemon juice and fish. Make it into a fine paste by adding very little water.

  3. Add the lemon juice and mix nicely.

  4. Pour this mixture over the fish, mix nicely and rub it all over the fish and in the slashes too. Keep this to marinate for atleast 30 mins.

  5. Drizzle the coconut oil in a tawa. Layer the fish in the hot oil and fry on low medium heat till golden on both sides and the fish is cooked completely which will take 10-15 mins approx.

  6. Drain and serve with onions, slit Green chillies and lemon slices.
