Ingredients

  1. 300 gm refined flour
  2. 100 gms ghee
  3. 1 tsp salt
  4. 1/2 cup warm water
  5. 150 gms mawa
  6. 50 gms sooji
  7. 100 gms dates
  8. 50 gms figs
  9. 50 gms raisins
  10. 100 gms almonds
  11. 50 gms pistachios
  12. 50 gms cashews
  13. 1 tsp cardamom powder
  14. 2 tsp honey

Cooking Instructions

    Make dough by mixing together refined flour, whole wheat flour, ghee salt and warm water.

    Keep the dough covered for 10 minutes.

    Heat a non stick pan and dry roast sooji for 5 minutes. Remove and add mawa. Fry for 5 minutes. Till oil separates.

    Add sooji to the mawa mixture

    Dry roast almonds, cashews and pistachios.

    Powder the dry fruits and add to the mawa sooji mixture. Reserve some pistas for decoration.

    Grind together dates, figs and raisins. Add to the mawa dry fruit mixture. Add cardamom powder. Mix well and remove from gas.

    Make small thin chapattis from the dough. Grease a chandrakala mould. Place some filling on one side and cover and press it.

    Preheat oven at 175 degrees.Arrange chandrakala/ gujiya on a baking tray.

    Bake them for 15 minutes.

    Remove and sprinkle 1 tsp honey and pistachios on them and serve.
