Stuffed (okra) bhendi masala(maharastrain style)

  1. 1/2 cup fresh coconut
  2. 500 gm lady finger
  3. 2 tbsp roasted peanuts
  4. 1 tbsp maharashtrian goda (garam masala)
  5. 2 onion
  6. 1 tbsp ginger paste
  7. 1 tbsp garlic paste
  8. 1/2 tsp salt
  9. 1/4 red chilli pwr
  10. 1/4 tsp degi mirch
  11. 1/4 tsp dry mango powder
  12. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  13. 1/2 tsp Coriander powder
  14. 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  15. 1/4 tsp asafoetida
  16. 1 tbsp garam flour
  17. 1/4 cup oil


  1. Add Photo

    Grind the roasted peanuts in a mixture.

  2. Add Photo

    Combine all the spices,garam flour coconut,roasted peanuts pwr ginger, garlic, green chilli paste, 2 tbsp oil in a bowl and mix well.

  3. Add Photo

    Wash, wipe dry and trim both the ends of the bhindi. Slit each bhindi vertically without breaking or cutting into two halves.

    Fill each bhindi with the mixture.

  5. Add Photo

    In a pan, put oil and grated onion. Saute it for 5 min. Add pinch of salt, stuffed bhindi and saute for 2-3 min. Now, cover with lid and cook on low heat till done.

  6. Change

    Serve the Maharashtrian Style Bharli Bhindi Recipe along with Tawa paratha, Dal Makhani and raita to enjoy your everyday dinner.
