RICE FARA(with leftover steamed rice) Chhatisgarhi cuisine
Sometimes we do have leftover rice and the ultimate easy dish that come to our mind is to make fried rice but there are lots of more ways to utilise that leftover rice.You can make rice fara,a famous Chhatisgarhi cuisine in which the leftover rice is steamed along with some rice flour and spices.you can make it in a ziffy.Just have a look into the recipe😊
Ingredients

ingredients for fara:-

1 bowl Leftover steamed rice

1/2 bowl Rice flour

1/2 tsp Jeera
-
1/2 cup Hot water

ingredients for tempering of fara:-

1/2 tsp Mustard seeds (rai)

3-4 Garlic cloves chopped
-
1-2 Red/green chilli chopped
-
Handful Coriander leaves chopped

As required Cooking oil
Cooking Instructions

Firstly grind the steamed rice with 1-2 spoon of water now mix this paste along with rice flour add hot water jeera and salt & knead a tight dough.

Spread oil on your palms and start making sticks out of the dough, Once all dough transformed into number of sticks.

Now take a broad vessel into it add 3-4 glasses of water along with half teaspoon of oil now dip all the rice sticks into it or in batches bring it to boil keep the gas flame medium to high..once the sticks gets cooked they popup upwards and float on the water surface...this way we can come to know that the faras gets cooked.Now drain the excess water and keep the faras aside.

Once all the faras gets cooked it's the time to prepare it's tempering

For that take a pan and heat 1-2 tablespoon oil, in the hot oil add some sesame seeds, garlic flakes and red or green chilli pieces.pour this tempering over the ready fara.garnish it with coriander leaves.

It's ready to serve with any dip of your choice.Traditionally tomato Coriander and green chilli chutney is served with it
