Soak the beans in a bowl of water that covers them for 12 hours (or if you like, overnight).
Boil for about 15 minutes, skim off the foam and drain them.
Put the beans together with the rest of the ingredients in the slow cooker and stir.
Cook in the low setting for 7,5-8 hours.
Your thickened bean soup is ready!
