Masala khichdi
A very light and healthy dinner.
Ingredients

1 cup rice

1 tbsp moong daal

1 small onion finely chopped

1 medium sized tomato finely chopped

2 Green chillies chopped

to taste Salt as per taste

1/2 tsp turmeric

2 tsp biryani masala
-
as needed Fresh coriander chopped

1 tsp lemon juice
-
1 tsp mustard seeds
-
1 tsp jeera/ cumin seeds

as needed Green or frozen peas optional

1 tbsp ghee
Cooking Instructions

Soak rice and moong dal for 15 minutes. Heat ghee in a pressure cooker. Then add mustard seeds and jeera. Fry for a minute.

Add green chillies and onion and fry for 2 minutes. Now add tomatoes and cook till it become soft.

Then add turmeric, salt soak rice and moong dal. And fry for 2 minutes.

Then add biryani masala, and lemon juice in it. Add 2 and half cups of water. And cook until 1 whistle. Now turn off the flame. And allow it to cook in remain pressure.

Our masala khichdi is ready.

Garnish with fresh coriander and Serve with curd.
