Ingredients

  1. 1 cup rice
  2. 1 tbsp moong daal
  3. 1 small onion finely chopped
  4. 1 medium sized tomato finely chopped
  5. 2 Green chillies chopped
  6. to taste Salt as per taste
  7. 1/2 tsp turmeric
  8. 2 tsp biryani masala
  9. as needed Fresh coriander chopped
  10. 1 tsp lemon juice
  11. 1 tsp jeera/ cumin seeds
  12. as needed Green or frozen peas optional
  13. 1 tbsp ghee

Cooking Instructions

    Soak rice and moong dal for 15 minutes. Heat ghee in a pressure cooker. Then add mustard seeds and jeera. Fry for a minute.

    Add green chillies and onion and fry for 2 minutes. Now add tomatoes and cook till it become soft.

    Then add turmeric, salt soak rice and moong dal. And fry for 2 minutes.

    Then add biryani masala, and lemon juice in it. Add 2 and half cups of water. And cook until 1 whistle. Now turn off the flame. And allow it to cook in remain pressure.

    Our masala khichdi is ready.

    Garnish with fresh coriander and Serve with curd.
