Nolen Gur/ Khejur Gur is very famous throughout Bangladeshi Culture. We use to make lots of traditional sweets and puddings with this delicious, aromatic and flavourful sweet thing to celebrate winter,Pohela boishakh,Mokor shonkranti and many other Bengali traditional occasions.

Nolen Gur is also called as Date Palm Jaggery. Nolen Gurer Payesh is one of the popular dish made with It's jaggery.It is a traditional Bengali rice pudding recipe with the richness and flavour of the tasty nolen gur.

Winter is my most favorite season.I always try to cook many traditional dishes to celebrate the beautiful weather of winter. This Payesh is one of them. Do try out this simple yet delicious recipe this winter and enjoy.Take Love from Bangladesh.💛♥💚

Ingredients

  1. 1/2 cup Chinigura rice soaked with water
  2. 1 pinch salt
  3. 2 cup liquid milk
  4. 2 tablespoon Powder milk
  5. 1 tablespoon condensed/ evaporated milk
  6. 2 pieces bay leaves
  7. 1 teaspoon ghee
  8. 1/2 cup/as required Jaggery(nolen gur)
  9. 1/4 th teaspoon cardemon powder
  10. 2 tablespoon chopped dryfruits

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Cook the rice with 1.5 cup water, liquid milk,powder milk and bay leaves on stove.when rice is 100% cooked,discard the bay leaves and add one pinch of salt and mash well.

    Then add condensed milk,cardemom powder and jaggery and cook them well. It brings a nice smell.Now add ghee from the top and garnish with dryfruits.

    Kheer is ready to serve.Enjoy.
