I was wondering what to make with leftover heavy cream. I'd never tried chocolate truffles, so I wanted to see if there was a hassle-free method of just using the microwave.

Heating times will differ on your microwave, so check on the chocolate while you work. Recipe by Hokkori-no

Ingredients

15 servings
  1. 100 grams Milk chocolate
  2. 20 grams Butter
  3. 50 ml Heavy cream
  4. To finish
  5. 1 Cocoa powder (unsweetened)

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Using a knife or your hands, chop the chocolate into 5 mm pieces. Slice the butter into 5 mm pieces. Place both in a heatproof bowl.

  2. 2

Microwave at 600 W for 1.5 minutes to melt. Use a whisk to mix well.

  3. 3

In another heatproof container, pour in the heavy cream, and microwave at 600 W for 30 seconds.

  4. 4

Add the cream from Step 3 to the bowl from Step 2, and combine well with a whisk.

  5. 5

Pour the mixture from Step 4 into chocolate molds using a spoon. Rap the tray on a flat surface several times to pop air bubbles.

  6. 6

Place Step 5 in the refrigerator and chill for about 3 hours to set. (If it isn't hardening, chill in the freezer).

  7. 7

Once your truffles have hardened, remove from the mold. Sprinkle with cocoa powder with a tea strainer.

  8. 8

If you use silicone molds, the chocolates will be easier to remove if you push them up from the bottom.

  9. 9

When storing the chocolates at home, keep them in a sealed container in the fridge.
