I wanted to make sure the edamame I served to my guests were properly cooked and presented!

The process in Step 1 takes a bit of effort, but doing so results in great-looking edamame.
If it's too much work using a hand-held fan, you could place them near an electric fan to cool. Recipe by ma2003co

Ingredients

  1. 1 Salt
  2. 1 A hand-held fan

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Use kitchen scissors to cut off the ends of the edamame. Cutting off the ends helps them soak up the salt.

  2. 2

Salt the edamame and rub it in. Removing any excess fuzz gives them a fresh color after boiling.

  3. 3

Add salt to plenty of boiling water, and boil the edamame over high heat for 3-4 minutes. Drain in a strainer. (While boiling, sample one, and adjust the boiling time as desired.)

  4. 4

Salt the drained edamame, and use a fan to cool them quickly. Caution: Cooling them by running them under cold water will reduce the flavor.
