Dried Basil Pesto

Sometimes you need to make something, but you don't have exactly what you need. So you adapt and try something. Well I did not have fresh basil so I used dried.

3/4 cup
  1. 1/2 cup dried basil
  2. 1/2 cup extra Virgin olive oil
  3. 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  4. 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  5. 1/4 cup pine nuts
  6. to taste salt
  7. 2 tablespoons parsley flakes


  1. In a dry pan toast the pine nuts. Stay with it don't leave them till you are removing from heat.

  2. Let them cool

  3. Gather the rest of the ingredients except the olive oil

  4. Put them in a blender or food processor with the salt, basil, garlic, and cheese. Pulse till all are like a paste.

  5. Drizzle the olive oil while the blender or food processor is running.

  6. Refrigerate till needed.
