Grind chopped onion, with 1tsp coriander powder, 1tsp cumin seeds, ginger and garlic,green chilli to make a paste.cursh the cardamom, cloves,and cinnamon using a mortar and pastel.
Put a pan medium flames.and 1tsp butter and 1tsp oil.once hot,add cumin seeds and the crushed spices. Saute for 2 minutes. Add finely cut onion and cashew and cook for 3 minutes.
Once the onion colour change to golden brown, add the onion- garlic paste,1tsp salt,turmeric powder, chilli powder,Kasuri methi and cook for 10 minutes.
Heat the pan with 1tsp oil with a pinch of salt and stir fry the paneer cubes till its colours change to light brown.
Add green peas to pan and stir for 5 minutes. Now add the masala paste and cream, mix very well.cover the pan and allow the curry to cook in low flame.
After 10 minutes open the cover and mix well.add garam masala and butter and saute for 3 minutes. Add coriander. Matar paneer is ready. Enjoy with roti,parathas and rice.
