Ingredients

18 idli
  1. 1 cup (150 gm) Sama rice
  2. 1/4 cup sago/Sabudana
  3. 1 cup curd
  4. 1 cup Carrots grated
  5. to taste Rock salt
  6. 1/2 tsp Black pepper (optional)
  7. 1/2 tsp Baking soda or Eno
  8. Oil for greasing

Cooking Instructions

    Soak Sama & Sabudana in curd for 3-4 hours.

    Grind in a smooth paste. (it should be like normal Idli paste). Keep it 5-6 hours for fermentation.

    Add rock salt, pepper & grated carrots in batter. Stir all.

    Not add 1 glass water for boiling in Idli steamer. Apply oil on Idli plate. Now add baking soda or Eno in batter. Mix well & immediately Pour batter in Idli plate.

    Keep it in Idli steamer. Cover its lid. Steam it for 8-10 minutes on high to medium flame. Switch off gas. Let it cool down.

    De mould when cooled. Serve with coconut & peanuts chutney
