15 mins
24 servings
  1. 1 cup room temperature salted butter (2 sticks)
  2. 4 cup confectionary sugar
  3. 3 tbsp cream, heavy cream for the best texture but, light cream, half and half, or milk can be substituted
  4. 2 tsp pure vanilla extract

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Beat sugar and butter until mixed. (It starts out lumpy but will eventually smooth out) Add cream and vanilla and beat until light and fluffy about, 2 minutes. If its too stiff add some of the cream until desired consistancy.

  2. 2

Use to frost one 2 layer cake or 24 cupcakes.

  3. 3

TIP FOR A PERFECT LIGHT CREAMY FROSTING--If your frosting seems dry or powdery or too thick add more cream in small amounts and beat well. It should be light and fluffy.

Very light and fluffy. Used a touch of almond extract to cut through some of the sweetness.

“Fenway” passed away on 2/3/2021. For the last year she tried to teach her husband of 42 years how to cook like her. Although I will never be as good of a cook as her she did pass on her passion for cooking. Therefore, I will attempt to carry on her legacy and maintain/update her site. My wife was a Registered Nurse, a licensed deep water aerobics instructor, a mother to our 2 children and a fantastic cook. We grew up in New England but have been fortunate to live all over the US. I am now retired, missing her terribly, but thankful for all the years we had together and all her cooking lessons.
