Crockpot Split Pea Soup

Ingredients

  1. 2 cup dried green split peas
  2. 1 bay leaf
  3. 1 onion, chopped
  4. 2 carrots, sliced
  5. 2 stalks of celery, sliced
  6. 1 tsp salt
  7. 1/2 tsp black pepper
  8. 2 large ham hocks
  9. 2 quart water
  10. 1 cup mashed potatoes, opt

Cooking Instructions

    Wash and sort split peas.

  2. 2

    Add everything to crockpot except for mashed potatoes.

  3. 3

    Cook on low for six to eight hours.

  4. 4

    When veggies are tender, take out ham hocks, remove meat, and add meat to soup. Add mashed potatoes to soup to thicken. If you do not have mashed potatoes, you can puree two cups of soup when warm.

i make something very similar but hadn't thought of doing it in slow cooker gonna do that next time cheers mate
