Vegetarian Braided Puff Pastry | By Neetu Suresh

  1. 2 tbsp oil
  2. 1 small onion
  3. 1/2 tsp ginger & garlic paste
  4. 1 cup potato
  5. (boiled, peeled & mashed)
  6. 1/2 cup green bell pepper
  7. 1/2 cup precooked green peas
  8. to taste Salt
  9. to taste Chilli powder
  10. 1 tsp garam masala
  11. 1 tbsp lemon juice
  12. Some fresh coriander
  13. sheet Puff pastry
  14. 8-10 mint leaves


  1. Add Photo

    Add the onion & sauté, then add ginger & garlic paste, sauté.

  2. Add Photo

    Add the potato, green bell pepper & precooked green peas. Mix.

  3. Add Photo

    Add salt, garam masala, chilli powder &lemon juice. Mix well
    and cook for 5 minutes or until the vegetables are tender-crisp, stirring occasionally.

    Remove the pan from the heat and let cool down completely.
    Unfold the pastry sheet on the work surface.

    Cut the puff pastry sheet into rectangle & Spoon the potato mixture down the center of the pastry, leaving 1 inch at the top and the bottom.

    Cut slits 1 inch apart down the sides of the pastry. Fold the top 1 inch of pastry down over the mixture.

    Criss-cross the strips & seal.

  8. Add Photo

    Brush the pastry with the butter.

  9. Add Photo

    Bake at 200°C for 15-18 mins or until the pastry is golden brown.
