Qamar el din drink

A traditional drink during Ramadan made of sheet of dried apricots soaked in warm water. Thick and sweet.

Ingredients

8 servings
  1. 300 g qamar ed-deen, or 3 sheets of dried apricot paste
  2. 2 1/2 cups hot water
  3. 3 tablespoons sugar
  4. 3 teaspoons orange blossom water

  1. Cut the qamar ed-deen into small pieces.

  2. Put the pieces in a bowl and add the hot water. Leave for 2 hr or more, stirring from time to time for the pieces to dissolve.

  3. Strain the mixture through a fine sieve then add sugar and orange blossom water.

  4. Let it cool in the refrigerator and serve in glasses.
