Ingredients

  1. 300 gms Mutton (with bone in)
  2. 250 gms Spinach
  3. 1 medium sized onion roughly chopped
  4. Fistful of Coriander leaves chopped
  5. 1 medium sized potato cut into half (optional)
  6. 2 inches ginger
  7. 10-12 Garlic cloves roughly crushed
  8. 1/4 cup Shelled peas
  9. 9-10 Beans (just cut the ends only)
  10. 1 Carrot cut into small pieces lengthwise
  11. 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  12. as per taste Salt
  13. 2-3 tbsps Mustard oil (or Veg oil)
  14. Whole Garam Masala
  15. 2-3 Green Cardamom
  16. 2-3 Cloves
  17. As required Few Black peppercorns
  18. 1 dollop of Butter (optional)

Cooking Instructions

    Prepare the vegetables as listed. Heat the oil in a pot or kadai and add the whole garam masala first...let it crackle and then add the onion and meat and saute till it browns a bit. Then add the potato and saute & Cook for sometimes. Add salt and turmeric too with little water. Bhunno for sometime...then add 3 cups of water and let it boil & cook covered with a lid.

    After 30-40 minutes, add the carrot,beans and coriander and cook futher, add more hot water, I added 6 more cups of hot water in the 1 hour of boiling & cooking.

    When the meat and veggies are cooked, add the peas and the spinach and cook for about 10 minutes....check salt and the consistency of the soup you desire. Serve hot with a dollop of butter with hot steam rice. Bon Appetit!!!!
