Ingredients

  1. 200 gms paneer
  2. 1/2 cup diced onions
  3. 1/2 cup diced bell peppers (red, yellow, and green)
  4. 2 tbsp sesame oil
  5. 1/4 tsp sesame seeds for garnish
  6. 1 tbsp spring onions greens for garnish
  7. As Required Oil for deep frying
  8. For marinade-
  9. 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  10. 1/2 tsp salt or to taste
  11. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  12. 1 tsp light soya sauce
  13. For the sauce
  14. 1 tbsp light soy sauce
  15. 1 tbsp vinegar
  16. 1 tbsp chilli sauce
  17. 1 tbsp tomato puree
  18. 2 tbsp tomato sauce
  19. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  20. 1/2 cup water
  21. 1 tsp sugar
  22. 8-10 finely chopped garlic cloves
  23. 1 tsp cornflour
  24. For dredging
  25. 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  26. 1/2 cup cornflour

Cooking Instructions

    To begin, cut the paneer into bite-sized pieces. Marinate it with ginger garlic paste, salt, light soy sauce, and red chilli powder. Mix well and keep aside.

    Mix together the all-purpose flour and cornflour for dredging in a plate. Add in the marinated paneer and mix until the pieces are well coated. Dust off the excess flour.

    Heat oil for deep frying. Fry the paneer pieces until golden. Remove and keep aside.

    For the sauce, in a bowl mix together light soy sauce, vinegar, chili sauce, tomato puree, tomato sauce, red chili powder, sugar, and 1/2 cup water.

    Heat sesame oil in a pan. Add finely chopped garlic and saute for a minute.

    Add in diced onions and bell peppers. Cook for a minute or two.

    Add in the sauce mix and boil it for 2-3 minutes. Make a slurry of 1 tsp cornflour with 2 tbsp of water. Add it to the sauce and cook until it thickens a bit.

    Finally, add in the fried paneer pieces and mix until well coated. Add a bit of water if needed.

    The Garlic Chilli Paneer is ready to serve. Garnish with sesame seeds and spring onion greens.
