Ingredients

Approximately one hour
4 persons
  1. 1 litre full cream milk
  2. 1/4 cup sugar
  3. 15 gm (2 tbsp) Everyday dairy whitener/ milk powder
  4. 10 each Sliced almonds and pistachios
  5. 10 resins
  6. 4 cardamom, powdered
  7. Few strands of saffron soaked in milk
  8. 1 little nutmeg powder

Cooking Instructions

    In a pan add one tablespoon of water and add milk and keep for boiling.

    Pour the boiled milk into a nonstick pan and keep it for boiling on low heat, stirring intermittently.

    Keep boiling for half an hour and if quantity is more then you have to keep more time.

    Boil milk till it is reduced to 3/4 lit or less. In a bowl take milk powder and add half a bowl of cold milk and mix. Add this mixture to boiling milk. Keep stirring for five minutes.

    Now add sugar and boil it for 10 min on low heat.

    Add sliced dry nuts, cardamom powder and nutmeg powder.

    Add saffron soaked in a milk.

    Give one boil. Now basundi is ready. Cool and keep it in a refrigerator and serve with puri or paratha.
