Ingredients

30 mins
2-serving
  1. 0.5 Litre Milk
  2. 3 Teaspoons Cornflour
  3. 5 Pods Garlic , chopped
  4. 1 Teaspoon Oregano
  5. 1 Teaspoon Thyme
  6. 1 Teaspoon Chilli flakes
  7. 1 Tablespoon Butter
  8. 1 Cheese cube
  9. 0.5 Teaspoon Pepper powder
  10. 6 Pods Brocolli
  11. 0.5 capsicum Red
  12. 0.5 Yellow capsicum
  13. 0.5 Green Capsicum
  14. 3 - 4 Pods babycorn
  15. 4 - 5 Pods Mushrooms
  16. 0.5 Kilo Penne
  17. 2 bread long
  18. 1 Cheese Cube
  19. To Taste Salt

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Wash the penne in running water and boil with water and salt to taste. Once cooked, drain the excess water using a drainer and keep it aside. Be careful not to overcook the pasta as it would then break while mixing with the white sauce.

  2. 2

Cut the vegetables into 1 inch pieces and wash them. Then cook them either on the flame or microwave with some salt to taste and water. Again do not over cook the vegetables, they need to be half boiled and crunchy. Drain the water and keep it aside

  3. 3

Now for the White sauce. Heat a TSP of butter in a pan and add the garlic peices and fry them till brownish. The aroma of garlic fried in butter is simply heavenly !

  4. 4

Into this add the 3 TSP of cornflour and fry them for a minute.

  5. 5

Add the milk and keep stirring not to form any lumps until the sauce starts to thicken.

  6. 6

Now add the oregano, thyme, chilli flakes & pepper powder [ you can increase/ decrease the quantity of these as per your taste].

  7. 7

Now add some salt to taste and grated cheese.

  8. 8

Add the boiled vegetables & Penne and mix well and keep it aside

  9. 9

Now take two long breads, smear some butter on them and slightly roast them on a non-stick pan [roast just so that the two sides are light golden brown]

  10. 10

Serve hot penne in white sauce with the bread !

  11. 11

You can even make the sauce without any vegetables or with vegetables of your choice. I have tried it with just mushrooms alone and they taste yummy too !
