Ingredients

7-8minutes

  1. 3 cups Refined flour
  2. 1/4 tsp Nigella seeds(klaunji)
  3. 1/4 tsp Carom seeds
  4. Pepper corns a few
  5. 4 tsp big Clarified butter or desi ghee
  6. to taste Salt
  7. 1/2 cup Beet root juice
  8. 2-3 tsp Mint paste
  9. 1/4 cup Water
  10. Oil for frying

Cooking Instructions

    First of all make two types of dough

  2. 2

    In first dough add nigella seeds, melted butter, salt (small quantity)and black pepper crushed..check the butter -flour mixture by binding the mixture in yo'r hand.. make a tight dough by putting beet root juice occasionally

    Make 2nd dough by putting carom seeds, melted butter, little salt and mint paste in refined flour.. Give a rest of half an hour to both the doughs to set

    Take first beetroot dough and divide into two parts and make two balls (pedas) and flatten thin like a sheet..cut the sides of sheet and give it a square shape..now cut the small squares with the help of a knife or pizza cutter..

    Take a small square and mark four cuts and fold like a swastic by pressing each fin in the center with wet(with water) finger..set a pepper corn in the center

    Make donut shape to the other part of dough with the help of a big and small cookie cutter or can take any big and small shape roundles (small glass and bottle cup etc)..perk with the help of a fork on the donuts

    Heat oil in a pan or kadai.. Fry all the swastic and donuts shape mathri at very slow flame in badges..put out of oil and spread on a paper napkin to soak up the access oil

    Crispy (khasta) festivesavouries swastic and donuts style mathri is ready

  9. 9

    Serve occasionly or can store in an air tight container for at least 15 days for festive occasion
