So....I made this a while ago to accompany my giant Yorkshire Pud but didn't share a recipe which a number of people have asked for since! So, here it is- super simple and de-blooming-lish! It will change your bangers and mash forever I promise. This gravy can easily be made veggie by replacing the beef stock and beef gravy granules for vegetarian alternatives! Recipe below and step by step video on my instagram @chloemilb

Ingredients

20 minutes
4 servings
  1. Large red onion
  2. 2 large cloves of garlic
  3. 3 sprigs thyme
  4. Just under 1/3 bottle of white wine
  5. Beef stock pot (or veggie alt)
  6. 3 tablespoons Worcester sauce
  7. 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar/glaze
  8. Salt and Pepper
  9. 2 tablespoons beef gravy granules (or veggie alt)
  10. Hot water

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Pan fry a sliced large red onion (white is also fine if you don't have a white one) and two large, roughly chopped garlic cloves in 3 tablespoons of olive oil for 3-5 mins until translucent

  2. 2

Add a few sprigs of thyme, two bay leaves and a large glug of white wine and reduce (this will take 5ish mins)

  3. 3

Season with salt and pepper and add the stock pot, mustard, balsamic glaze/balsamic vinegar, and a good lashing of Worcester sauce and cook for five mins allowing to simmer away

  4. 4

Add two tablespoons of gravy granules and a cup of hot water

  5. 5

Simmer for five mins until at your desired thickness (just add more water to loosen if required)
