Flapjacks
This is my favourite go to recipe for flapjacks, they are so easy ,once you have made them you’ll want to make them all the time! They’re great for a snack or to have with a cup of tea. You can add what ever you like to this recipe sultanas, nuts, chocolate chips etc.
Ingredients
-
250 g oats
-
125 g butter
-
125 g brown sugar
-
2-3 tbsp golden syrup
-
Optional 1tbsp peanut butter
Cooking Instructions
-
1
Set the oven to 180 fan.
-
2
Add the oats into a bowl.
-
3
Melt the butter in a small pan.
-
4
Once the butter is melted add in the sugar and stir into the butter over a low heat.
-
5
Depending on how you like your flapjacks add in either 2 or 3 table spoons of golden syrup. I don’t like my flapjacks too soft so I add 2 table spoons, however if you like them quite soft then add 3.
-
6
This step is optional, add one big table spoon of peanut butter into the melted butter syrup and sugar then stir.
-
7
Pour the all the melted butter etc in with the oats and stir well making sure that all of your oats are covered.
-
8
If you want to add anything else into your flapjacks (raisins, sultanas, peanuts, seeds, chocolate chips etc) then stir in now.
-
9
Add mix into a approx 20x20cm lined baking tin. Using the back of a spoon push all the flapjacks into the corners and make it as level as you can. Make sure it’s squashed right down with no gaps so it doesn’t break apart.
-
10
Cook in the oven for around 30 minutes until golden brown.
-
11
I like to drizzle melted chocolate over my flapjack once it’s done.
-
12
Leave the flapjack for at least an hour until it’s completely cool and has hardened until you cut it into pieces.
