Rich pasta sauce
This is based on a Bolognese sauce but has too many ingredients to be called such. I think it's lush.
Ingredients

500 g steak mince

1 large onion

4 rashers fatty smoked streaky bacon

1 green or red pepper

500 g passata
-
2 heaped tablespoons of tomato puree

100 g mushrooms

1 tsp sesame oil

1 tsp bovril or beef stock cube

2 chillis

2 cloves garlic

truffle salt

Cooking Instructions

Chop the bacon into stamp size pieces

Get a heavy bottom pan or a Dutch oven very hot and brown the bacon (not to crispy stage)

Add the onions and get some colour in them.

Add the mince stir (stir continuously while adding ingredients)

Add finely chopped garlic, twigs of herbs, pepper, mushrooms, chillis and sesame oil and fry till the mince is all brown.

Add passata and some water.

Add tomato puree and beef stock.

After a few minutes taste and if it needs salting add some truffle salt (you can get it in Sainsbury)

Simmer for about 45 mins stirring now and again on your lowest heat

Serve with pasta and parmesan
