Ingredients

  1. 200 gm Karela finely chopped
  2. 100 gm Aloo chopped
  3. 1 tsp ginger grated
  4. 1 larger Onion thinly cut lengthwise
  5. 1 tsp Amchur powder
  6. 1 green chilli chopped
  7. 1 tbsp mustard oil
  8. to taste Salt
  9. 1 tsp red chilli powder
  10. 1 tsp turmeric powder
  11. 2 tsp Achari Masala (available in the market)
  12. 1 tsp Panch phutan
  13. For Panch phutan
  14. 1/2 tsp cumin seeds zeera
  15. 1/2 tsp mustard seeds rai
  16. 1/4 tsp Fenugreek seeds methi
  17. Mix all the above-mentioned five seeds and it is known as PANCH PHUTAN

Cooking Instructions

    Heat up mustard oil and heat it till slightly smoky. Then allow to cool it.

    Take a microwave safe bowl. Mix mustard oil, panch phutan, ginger, Onion, turmeric powder,red chilli powder and cook for 1 minutes in microwave oven with lid on the bowl.

    Add rest of the ingredients including chopped Karela and Aloo.

    Mix properly and cook with lid in microwave for 3 minutes.

    Again bring out the bowl from microwave and stirr the contents properly and cook for 2 minutes.

    Let the bowl stay in microwave for 5 minutes after cooking.

    Yummy Achari Karela Aloo is ready to eat.
    Serve with fresh hot Roti or Parathas.

    Note:
    * Achari Masala has salt, so use salt in the recipe accordingly.

    *Cool mustard oil after hearing, otherwise a raw mustard oil smell will come out from the recipe.
