Sata Andagi (Okinawan Donuts)

I wanted to try making sata andagi at least once. I was able to learn how to make them when I vacationed in Okinawa. I'm so glad they came out nicely.

Oiling your hands before rolling the dough balls will make them easier to handle.
Slowly fry the dough balls. If they develop cracks on the surface like flower petals, they're a success! Recipe by kmukuchap

Ingredients

10 servings
  1. 160 grams Cake flour
  2. 1 Egg
  3. 80 grams Dark brown sugar (or white sugar)
  4. 2/3 tsp Baking powder
  5. 1 Frying oil

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Break the egg into a bowl and beat it. Add the sugar and mix well. Add the vegetable oil.

    Add the cake flour and baking powder, and fold them in.

  3. 3

    Roll the dough into ping pong ball sized balls.

  4. 4

    Deep fry the dough balls slowly in oil heated to around 160℃.
