Though it doesn't look like it, this is a kind of 'fusion' food that's from Okinawa. This came from American influence from the military base there. It's really yummy so you should try it once!

Ingredients

2 servings
  1. 2 servings cooked white rice
  2. 1 Tbsp oil
  3. 1/2 onion, minced
  4. 1 clove garlic, minced
  5. 1 pinch ichimi spice or cayenne pepper (optional to add spiciness)
  6. 1/2 Tbsp chili powder mix
  7. 1 tsp cumin powder
  8. 170 g ground beef
  9. 1/2 Tbsp soy sauce
  10. 1/2 Tbsp sake (rice wine)
  11. 2-3 pinches salt
  12. Toppings:
  13. 1 handful lettuce, shredded
  14. 1 tomato, diced
  15. to taste shredded cheese

Cooking Instructions

    Prepare your rice so it gets done by the time you are ready to eat.

    Heat oil in a frying pan and add the onions and garlic. Cook until onions are soft.

    Add the ichimi/cayenne pepper, chili powder and cumin and mix in with the onions for a minute. Then add the beef and cook until brown.

    When the beef is cooked, mix in tomato paste, soy sauce, sake and a little salt. Mix well. Cook until the sauce is thick and not watery any more.

    Chop up the tomato and lettuce for topping. Put the rice on a plate and put meat on top. Top it with cheese, lettuce and tomatoes! ENJOY ^^
